Responsibility

As a brand, we are highly committed to continually improving our production processes and materials to keep up with industry developments and minimize our environmental impact. This means focusing on creating the best possible products that our customers will love and use for a long time.

Regarding our products and production, most of our collection consists of classic styles that are repeated season after season. This is a deliberate choice to avoid overproduction, and we do not engage in sales or produce more than necessary. Additionally, we only produce once a year and do not follow traditional seasonal cycles seen in the fashion industry.

We constantly keep ourselves updated on new materials and alternatives and work closely with our factory to explore options for creating better products. We are proud to announce that from May 2023 and onwards, around 50% of our production will be made from recycled and BPA-free materials, and our packaging will almost be 100% recycled or recyclable.

While we continue to search for materials that are 100% recycled and of high enough quality to create long-lasting products, this is currently not a feasible option. Quality tests have shown that the current recycled materials available are not durable enough, which would result in increased production due to more production errors and a shorter product lifespan.

Despite being part of the fashion industry, our sunglasses also serve a medical purpose by protecting our eyes from harmful UV rays and are therefore recommended for daily use. Sunglasses are there for a necessity, not just a fashion accessory.

We have chosen slow shipment for our pro- ducts, which means they are transported by boat once a year, wherever possible. Shipping goods by boat is the most CO2-neutral option due to better fuel efficiency, larger cargo capa- cities, and slower speeds. While overall emissi- ons can still be significant, shipping by boat remains the most environmentally friendly choice per unit of cargo.

We have a code of conduct that our suppliers must adhere to, and we ensure compliance by visiting our suppliers regularly. Our code of conduct focuses on employee rights and op- portunities, including maternity leave, working conditions, animal welfare, and anti-corruption. You can access our entire code of conduct here.

We work with factories that are ISCC certified, which covers sustainable agricultural biomass, biogenic wastes and residues, non-biological renewable materials, and recycled carbon-ba- sed materials. We also ensure that our products meet international standards by obtaining FDA, BSCI, and Dropball certifications for each pro- duction run.

Additionally, we do third part testing to ensure that we meet the safety standards and conduct chemical tests to ensure compliance with rele- vant requirements.
